CASSIE is Coming! After more than a year of research and discussion, the Goffstown Public Library has purchased a public computer and printer management software package called CASSIE. This software will manage the users of our computers, keep track of their time and print jobs. Right now the staff takes care of all this manually and during busy times of the day it is difficult to manage eight computers on three floors. CASSIE will:
maintain fairness for everyone needing to use a computer.
maintain the waiting list. All people waiting must ask a library staff member to sign them up. Users will not be affected if there is no waiting list.
calculate your print charges and show you the cost before you start to print. You will need to pay ahead for this service.
maintain security and allow you to temporarily lock the computer.
protect your privacy by closing all documents and clearing your private browser at the end of the session.
remind the user how much time is left and will automatically log the user off once time is up.
Once we begin using CASSIE, visitors will need to use their library card or a guest pass to log on to any public computer. Stay tuned for more information! If you have questions please be sure to ask us.
